Competence and integrity.
Legal representation remotely across British Columbia and in-person in Vancouver.
My Approach
I help clients cut through complexity by identifying the real legal issue beneath messy facts, imprecise language, or procedural confusion, then developing a clear, defensible strategy and communicating it plainly.
I strive to provide clients with the clarity and judgment they need to make informed decisions. Just as importantly, I aim to give them peace of mind by being a competent advocate who is responsive and available to guide them through the process.
Transparency in fees is paramount—my legal invoices are detailed and clear.

Lawyer & Advisor

Located in downtown Vancouver, I serve clients across British Columbia. The legal services I provide to my clients are of the highest quality, cost-effective, and responsive, utilizing a modern, technology-enabled approach.
I'm diligent in gathering and organizing data, and I carefully consider all possible avenues for my clients before choosing a strategy. I'm particularly drawn to matters involving significant economic intricacy.
I'm a careful thinker and a straight talker.
I moved to Vancouver in 2009 and worked in various legal support roles at law firms and organizations before becoming a member of the Law Society of British Columbia. Prior to that, I lived and worked in Ireland, USA, and the Netherlands and practised law in Russia.
I'm an entrepreneur at heart and I have a nerdy side to me: I'm curious about technology and science, enjoy learning about the mind, consciousness, and various concepts and ideas.

PRICING
I offer cost-effective and transparent pricing for my legal services.
-
Hourly billing: This is suitable for matters that are unpredictable, complex, or require frequent communication (e.g., litigation). I track my time using legal accounting software and provide exceptionally detailed invoices. My current hourly rate is $250 + GST & PST.
-
Flat fee: This is suitable for matters that have a clear scope (e.g., drafting a contract).
-
I do not provide legal services on a contingency basis or offer free consultations.
Typically, before I begin work on your matter, I require a retainer amount (like a deposit). It gets put into the firm's trust account, kept there, and doesn’t get used until I first issue an invoice. In ongoing matters (e.g., litigation), I require to replenish the retainer amount as necessary.
See from the Law Society on Lawyer's Fees and keeping your costs down.
Not everyone has the financial means to retain the services of a lawyer. Here are some Other Legal Resources in BC for you to consider.
